Is it right to love?

There has been a lot of talking lately about the 19th newborn of Duggars' legacy - Josie - and surely most people have been arguing on the greatest question of all: is it right to have so many kids?

People are split among two sides: the "pro-life" one and the "too many, what you think you are doing" one. Can't say they're both wrong: let's see why.

Being part of a great family is something many wish for - or at least they did during their younger years - it means so much fun, to spend holidays with relatives which could easily give you some dollars; you know, just like grandpa and grandma used to when we were kids. That kind of imagery can't sound wrong: problem is, life isn't single faced.
It seems the Duggars can look after their kids, also due to the mature enough older ones doing babysitting to the youngers; but can really love be shared among nineteen kids? I mean, you know how it goes, love doesn't need to be split, but time does; and please don't fool me saying that the Duggars' family works just like a normal one: what do we know about psychological repercussions on the children? We don't have - luckily - many examples of enormous families like this one, and so we can't know what'll happen to this poor kids' minds, being crushed with so much pressure.

On the other hand, it stills remains a fact that free will should be really free for each individual, anywhere in the world. So, for as many things we could say on how they should, or shouldn't behave, they still have the right to do as they want; problem is, is their children's free will respected or what?

As for now we have considered only private matters, but this behaviors have a public side too: in the face of the mounting problem of famine, pollution and depletion of resources, is right for a family of a first-world country to be this large? If you think that the corn to fuel a SUV one time can feed a third-world family for one year, we must think about the cost of an unlimited fertility.

With two kids per family, we can have a stable population, but if every family would trail behind the Duggars'one, in a few generations we would need the Galaxy to home all of us.
